Department management Safety and home maintenance 100% (m/f/d)

Caritas Switzerland has been running asylum centres for families, individuals and unaccompanied minors (MNA) at five locations in the Canton of Zurich since March 2024 on behalf of the Cantonal Social Office of Zurich (KSA). For the cross-location departmental management in the department of security and home maintenance, we are looking for a person responsible.

Their tasks

• Management and further development of the security organisation in accordance with the legal, cantonal and Caritas internal requirements as well as the applicable ASA solution
• Professional management and development of the security officers (SIBE) and home maintenance across all asylum locations
• Technical training and advice and exchange of experience
• Interdisciplinary cooperation with mandate, centre, team and department heads as well as internal and external departments
• Standardisation of standards for home maintenance, maintenance, cleaning, hygiene, disposal and logistics
• Defect, repair and contract management with responsibilities, priorities, deadlines and completion control
• Technical and operational prevention: fire protection, evacuation, emergency organisation, first aid, solo work, equipment, machinery, electricity, hazardous materials, protective equipment, safety data sheets, maintenance and building and environmental safety
• Health protection: ergonomics, physical stress, hygiene, infection protection, indoor climate, noise as well as health-friendly workplaces and processes in coordination with department management Health
• Technical, craft, infrastructural or operational training
• Further training in facility management or home maintenance is beneficial
• SIBE training or readiness and in-depth knowledge of EKAS Directive 6508, ASA solution and operational safety requirements
• Several years of experience in security organization, home maintenance, facility management, operational maintenance, logistics as well as in professional management or project responsibility
• Communication, team, social and intercultural competence
• Independent, structured, solution-oriented and resilient working method
• Analytical thinking, organisational skills and constructive handling of conflicts
• Very good knowledge of German, oral English and ideally another language of the persons supervised
• Secure handling of MS Office and digital control and documentation systems
• Driving Licence B and readiness for on-site and inter-service missions
