The Judicial Commission of the Cantonal Council is looking for a part-time member for the Building Appeal Court (GLP) 20% for the term of office 2023-2029. The Construction Appeals Court is a specialist court of first instance for assessing appeals under construction, planning and environmental law. Its special feature is that the necessary specialist knowledge is brought in by the part-time presidents and members. This means that time-consuming expertise is generally unnecessary.

Requirements

• In-depth knowledge of architecture, planning, engineering and environmental sciences
• Familiarity with legal issues and problem solving
• Negotiation skills and confident demeanor
• Willingness to take part in meetings (judgment consultations), inspections, case discussions, etc. and to study files, totaling around two half days per week
• Time and location flexibility
• Voting rights in the canton of Zurich
• Impeccable reputation

Choice and compensation

The members of the building appeals court are elected by the cantonal council. The seat is claimed by the GLP parliamentary group. The amount of compensation for participation in inspections, work as a speaker and the preparation of technical reports is based on the cantonal personnel regulations and the regulations of the administrative court.
