The Judicial Commission of the Cantonal Council is looking for a substitute member for the Higher Court (SVP) as of 1. October 2026 for the remainder of the term of office 2025-2031 The Higher Court of the Canton of Zurich is a court of appeal in civil and criminal matters. It is affiliated with the Commercial Court, which is the first instance to deal with commercial court processes. Furthermore, the Higher Court is responsible for the independent judicial administration of the civil and criminal courts of Zurich and the notarial system. Requirements

• In-depth knowledge of substantive civil and criminal law as well as civil and criminal procedural law
• Several years in court
• Familiarity and safe handling of legal issues and problem solutions
• Ability to address in-depth difficult legal issues and complex issues, as well as to present them to the essentials and intelligible
• Negotiation skills, confident appearance, social skills, assertiveness and decision-making
• Readiness, endurance and resilience
• Communication and team skills
• Voting Rights in the Canton of Zurich
• Age under 65 years of age at the time of taking office
• The seat is claimed by the SVP Group. The annual salary is governed by the decision of the Cantonal Council on the determination of the salaries of the members of the Higher Court of 22 April 1991 (LS 212.53).
