Canton Zurich Education Directorate BI - General Secretariat Data Officer 80 - 100% The General Secretariat is the head of the Education Directorate. Around 80 employees provide central services for the head of the Directorate and the Offices. Data is a central basis for informed decisions, effective control and modern administration. With the introduction of cantonal data governance, the Canton of Zurich is expanding the conditions for systematically using data.

For this purpose, we are looking for a person who thinks strategically, recognizes relationships and can attract people to a professional and effective handling of data.Your area of responsibility

• You are further developing the data strategy of the Education Directorate and actively shaping cantonal data governance.
• You are developing data processes, standards and foundations for the entire life cycle of data – from collection, management and use to archiving.
• You define requirements for data quality, data architecture and interfaces and support their implementation within the Education Directorate.
• You advise our offices and departments on questions relating to data collection, data modelling, data analysis, data provision and archiving.
• You show how data can be used better for planning, control and decision-making.
• You manage smaller, effective projects in the data environment.
• You represent the Education Directorate in cantonal specialist committees.
• You work closely with internal departments such as information security, data protection, law, finance, digital and educational planning. Your profile
• You have tertiary education, for example in business information technology, computer science, data science, statistics or a comparable field of expertise.
• You have experience in data management, data governance, data strategy or data architecture.
• You have a good understanding of how data is generated by relevant information and decision-making bases.
• They provide comprehensive technical and technical connections in a comprehensible and appropriate manner.
• They have strong consulting and communication skills and are confident in dealing with different stakeholders and hierarchy levels in public administration.
• They have experience in managing or managing projects and projects.
• They work independently, structured and responsible.
