Staff Vice Rectorate Teaching and Studying

Job start 1 November 2026 or by agreement, indefinitely

The University of Zurich is committed to the equal participation of students with disabilities and chronic diseases in university life. As part of the centralization and digitization of relevant processes, a central provision office for disadvantage compensation is set up. In future, it will take over the processing of the applications for disadvantage compensation of students from all faculties and thus contribute significantly to a uniform and efficient implementation of disadvantage compensation as well as to an inclusive university culture. The Central Agency for Disadvantage Compensation will be located in the staff of the Prorectorate for Teaching and Studies. The staff supports the Vice Rector in her management tasks and is responsible for the management and coordination of central business, processes and projects.

Tasks

Together with the head of the Central Disadvantage Response Office They actively participate in the establishment of this new position and ensure a uniform, comprehensible and formally correct disposition practice. Their responsibilities include in particular:

• Examination of applications for compensation of disadvantages as well as the submitted medical evidence and recommendations of the study and disability department
• If necessary, technical clarifications with the study and disability department and the relevant faculties
• Establishment and dispatch of legally binding instruments
• Acceptance of objections as well as administrative support in the processing of objections and recourses in consultation with the relevant faculties

Profile

• Bachelor’s degree, commercial education with vocational maturity or equivalent education
• Professional experience in higher education, in the legal environment or in the field of inclusion
• Careful, structured and independent working methods
• A strong sense of quality and responsibility
• Discretion and sensitivity in dealing with personal and particularly protective data
• Flexibility and resilience
• Digital affinity, experienced handling of MS Office programs, SAP knowledge of advantages
• Stylish-confident German, good knowledge of English as well as precise communication in words and writing
