Canton of Zurich Directorate of Economic Affairs Office for Economic Affairs Project manager/in promotion of foreign economic relations 80 - 100% At the Office for Economic Affairs (AWI), we are committed to an attractive, leading and future-oriented canton of Zurich. The promotion of locations strengthens Zurich as a business, research and innovation location. We network actors from business, science and politics, accompany company settlements and provide important impetus for sustainable location development. For a prosperous business and innovation location in Zurich, good relations with abroad are central. Attractive and sustainable framework conditions can be made sustainable in times of increasing complexity, dynamism and economic uncertainty, in particular through the cooperation and exchange of comparable innovation ecosystems and their actors. In this context, location promotion aims to establish stable international relationships with selected locations, ecosystems, institutions or companies. For this versatile task, we are looking for a person experienced in international and intercultural competences at the beginning of April 2027 with foresight, coordination skills and a pronounced implementation orientation. Your main tasks:

• Ensure implementation of the government decision on the maintenance of economic relations of the Canton of Zurich (RRB 1116-2021)
• Further development and consolidation of the Innovation Leaders Network with comparable innovation locations
• Conception, organisation and implementation of international travel, including in cooperation with strategic partners
• Supervision of foreign (high-level) delegations and development of visit programmes
• Conception and organisation of the main event “Location Day” as well as support for further location promotion events
• Development and participation in position papers and political business and support of location promotion in the core tasks Your profile:
• Master’s degree or equivalent training, preferably in political science, international relations, economics or a comparable discipline
• Several years of professional experience ideally in an international and intercultural context related to the focus countries
• In-depth project management and organizational expertise with the ability to lead complex projects from conception to successful completion
• Accustomed handling in politically shaped situations, safe appearance and step-by-step communication
• Very good verbal and written expression in German and English. Further advanced language skills are beneficial
