Canton of Zurich Directorate of Justice and Home Affairs Prisons and Reintegration Prisons Zurich Team Leader in Assistance and Security 80 - 100% With around 1,400 employees, Prison and Reintegration (JuWe) is the largest office within the Directorate of Justice and Home Affairs and is responsible for the execution of penalties and measures as well as for the execution of various types of detention. Our employees from around 40 professions support and promote the reintegration of delinquents and work effectively and progressively for a safe and fair society. The Zurich Enforcement Institutions (VEZ) are one of eight main departments of JuWe. They comprise four companies with a total of 314 penalties and around 230 employees. Persons detained in the VEZ are in closed and open prison, in half-detention and in administrative detention under foreigners’ law. The VEZs ensure the accommodation, care and employment of the admitted persons and thus contribute to the prevention of recidivism and public security. The prison Affoltern am Albis with 65 penalties and around 35 employees specializes in the execution of sentences or remaining sentences of no more than 18 months. In addition to the concept of group enforcement, which aims to increase the personal responsibility of the inmates, a step-appropriate school education (BiSt) is offered. • You support the department head in the task fulfillment and take over the personnel management of the supervisors / supervisors in shift operation during your service period.
• You lead your team taking into account the guiding principles of the VEZ, organize and lead team meetings and lead employee meetings as well as qualifications within the framework of the target agreements
• You promote team development and the professional development of supervisors and ensure a meaningful delegation of tasks within the team
• Together with your team, you ensure an orderly daily routine and ensure the care of the instructed persons in compliance with all safety regulations, procedures and instructions.
• You recognize critical situations at an early stage, initiate appropriate measures and act consistently and de-escalating even in demanding situations
• You are the contact person for the supervisors / supervisors during the service period and take over the line picket function if necessary
• You are responsible for performing security checks such as detention room checks, body searches and package checks
• You create rapports, conduct hearings and open disciplines within your competences

• You can demonstrate a completed vocational apprenticeship EFZ and are ready to attend further training such as SKJV basic training as a specialist in the prison system

• You express yourself well in German in writing and verbally, have knowledge of a second language (English / French / Italian.) and get along well with the MS-Office range
• It is easy for you to solve difficult situations de-escalating and consistently
• You are psychologically and physically resilient and changing working hours are compatible with other obligations (shift operation); Sundays and public holidays
