Canton of Zurich Economic Directorate Office for Mobility Head of Department/in Total Mobility 80 - 100% Do you want to further develop the transport system in the Canton of Zurich holistically and in the long term? In the overall mobility department of the Office for Mobility, we plan the future transport system across all modes of transport and means of transport. We develop overall transport concepts in coordination with the settlement and the environment, develop the agglomeration programmes and coordinate their implementation. We are also the central coordinating body for freight transport and logistics issues. In the directional planning we deal with all traffic topics and shape them decisively. The overall view is always crucial – this is how we create the planning basis for future-oriented mobility in the Canton of Zurich. We are looking for you as of 1 June 2027 or by agreement as head/in total mobility. Their main tasks

• Management of the overall mobility department with a total of ten employees as well as their professional, personnel and organizational development
• Responsibility for the strategic overall transport planning of the Canton of Zurich and management of important planning projects such as agglomeration programmes, regional overall transport concepts and regional planning
• Representation of the canton’s overall transport interests in directional, usage and planning procedures as well as towards administration, politics and external stakeholders
• Participation in the management of the Office for Mobility and co-responsibility for its strategic development Our requirements
• University degree (master or doctorate) in transport planning, spatial planning, civil engineering or a comparable specialisation
• Several years of professional and managerial experience, ideally in the transport or spatial planning environment as well as a strong understanding of political and administrative processes
• Strong leadership, communication and negotiation skills as well as pleasure in working with different stakeholders
• Networked and analytical thinking, high level of initiative and assertiveness
• Very good knowledge of German in word and writing
