Assistance asylum center 80% in Winterthur, temporary (m/f/d)

Caritas Switzerland has been operating asylum centres at various locations in the canton of Zurich since March 2024. Since January 1, 2026 and on a temporary basis, we opened a transit centre in the Winterthur area. The centre offers space for up to 100 asylum seekers. It is located in an underground facility that meets current security, infrastructure and protection requirements. The premises are functionally and conveniently designed to create the most pleasant and structured environment possible for the residents. For the support team, we are looking for a flexible and ready-to-use person who is willing to take on different shifts, including day, night and weekend services.

Their tasks

• Accompaniment and advice of refugees in various everyday matters
• Handling of entries and exits: provision of personal dossiers, entry material and receipt of material, exit settlement
• Co-responsibility in conflict management and management in accordance with the principles of care
• Introduction and guidance of cleaning and maintenance of living quarters and implementation of cleaning and hygiene concepts
• Planning, introduction and guidance of domestic service and Ämtli
• Co-responsibility for compliance with the house rules in the center and implementation of the organizational manual regarding safety and emergency
• Ensuring an orderly center operation and a calm atmosphere
• Provision of time-varying work services (including day, night and weekend services)
• Completed education and professional experience beneficial in care or domestication
• Experience in migration is desirable
• Good knowledge of the German language as well as good oral knowledge in English, further knowledge of foreign languages advantageous
• Good computer user knowledge (especially MS-Office and Internet)
• High sense of responsibility, hygiene and quality
