Tasks: The assistant professor's focus is on establishing a program in precision medicine for patients with advanced lung diseases and conducting innovative clinical, genomic and experimental studies. It is intended to contribute to better understanding and treatment of a wide range of advanced lung diseases (structural lung diseases such as fibrosis and emphysema, CTEPH). The main research area of the Thoracic Surgery Clinic is oncology, emphysema and pulmonary hypertension, as well as transplantation research. Professor:in is part of the Thoracic Surgery Team and is intended to cover the entire spectrum of general thoracic surgery. Perspectiveally, the management of the transplant program is envisaged. We are looking for a creative and cooperative personality who is committed to excellence in research, clinic and teaching. The ideal:e candidate:in has successfully acquired competitive research funding and published in recognized journals. We expect a completed specialist training in thoracic or cardiac surgery, clinical leadership experience as well as a habilitation or equivalent scientific achievements.
