Canton of Zurich Education Directorate Technical Vocational School Zurich TBZ Head of Department Automotive Technology 100% The Automotive Engineering Department of the Technical Vocational School Zurich TBZ is the competence center for the education and training of the automotive and carrosserie professions. Around 600 learners are taught by around 40 teachers. Basic education is complemented by a wide range of further education opportunities. On 1 March 2027, we are looking for a committed and leadership-strong personality as Head of Department Automotive Technology. The function is performed in the co-line model. Together with your management partner, you are responsible for the personnel, pedagogical and organizational leadership and further development of the department.

• You lead and develop employees, ensure a high-quality and reliable school operation and are responsible for human and financial resources. At the same time, you develop the educational offers together with the stakeholders of vocational training and maintain cooperation with associations, companies, ÜK centres and other partners. As a member of the extended school management, you are also actively involved in the development of the TBZ.
• You have several years of teaching and leadership experience at secondary level II as well as a completed university degree in a field relevant to automotive technology or general education. A teaching diploma for vocational colleges is mandatory for hiring as department management. You have already completed a school management training or are ready to complete it in a timely manner. A good network in the automotive industry is an advantage. We are looking for an honest and decisive personality with strong leadership, communication and cooperation skills. They know how to lead people, bring different interests together and implement change in a targeted manner.
