Role overview

Mission

The Operations department manages and operates the real estate infrastructure and services to EPFL users.

It is composed of about 80 employees active in CVSE-MCR techniques, Building Maintenance as well as in concierge and stewardship services.

Main responsibilities

  • Main tasks and responsibilities
  • Your duties and responsibilities as Head of Building Management Systems (BMS) will be as follows:
  • Pilot the Building Management Systems Unit (BMS) by defining priorities, planning activities and ensuring that the objectives of the service are met, while respecting EPFL's values and culture.
  • Ensure the management of the unit's human resources, workload, budget and resources to ensure efficient and sustainable operation.
  • To define the strategy for the evolution of systems and installations in the field, anticipating the needs of EPFL's technical infrastructure.
  • Ensure the smooth running of the Unit's projects to ensure that the cost and time targets are met.
  • Coordinate the operation, maintenance and evolution of associated software and infrastructure.
  • Collaborate closely with the various EPFL services linked to the different areas of activity.
  • Conduct technical and interdisciplinary sessions, validate orders in accordance with current procedures.
  • Participate in technological and regulatory monitoring in its fields to ensure the evolution of solutions according to best practices and current requirements
