The Valais Hospital is looking for the Valais Romand Hospital Centre.

100% somatical frame doctor to contribute to the development and structuring of somatic medicine within the Prison Medicine Service, in close connection with the Medical Permanence of Sierre.

This position is part of an institutional strategy aimed at strengthening the quality, continuity and coordination of somatic care for people in custody while integrating the doctor into a team of experienced internist doctors at the Permanence de Sierre.

Mission

• You ensure general medical consultations for the Prison Medicine Service, according to the schedule established at the various detention sites.
• You work with the head of department, SMP nursing teams, prison officials and institutional partners.
• You help structure somatic care, harmonize practices and develop prevention programs in prisons.
• You participate in multidisciplinary meetings and collaborate with the different centres of the CHVR to ensure the coordination of complex medical situations.
• You ensure part of the administrative coordination of the SMP and the Medical Permanence of Sierre, according to mutual arrangements.
• As a senior physician, you contribute to continuing education and direct and indirect supervision of medical and nursing teams.

Profile

• Holder of an FMH degree in general internal medicine, general medicine, or equivalent.
• Experience in family medicine, community medicine, first resort medicine or with vulnerable populations.
• Significant interest in somatic prison medicine and the development of quality care for vulnerable populations within the CHVR.
• Medical leadership, sense of responsibility, autonomy and excellent capacity for interprofessional collaboration.
• Several years of experience as the head of clinic, executive physician or independent practice
• Good negotiating capacity with a variety of institutional partners and good adaptability in a structured context.
• Excellent knowledge of the French language and knowledge of German.

The position involving a multi-site activity, a driving licence and a vehicle is necessary.
