Main responsibilities
- Oversee all people management responsibilities, including hiring, development, coaching, performance management, compensation, and disciplinary matters.
- Ensure effective resource and vacation planning to support uninterrupted production and operational requirements.
- Drive communication, collaboration, and continuous improvement by promoting the Lonza culture and ensuring alignment between management and operational teams.
- Act as Engineering Lead for capital investment projects, providing utility-related expertise and supporting facility design, construction, and commissioning.
- Define and implement maintenance strategies, standards, and changeover concepts to maximize plant reliability, availability, and cost efficiency.
- Manage engineering, maintenance, utility, CAPEX, and operational budgets while driving innovation, cost reductions, and cross-functional collaboration within the Manufacturing Leadership Team. What we are looking for:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Automation, or a related technical discipline.
- 10+ years of experience in engineering and maintenance leadership, preferably within the biopharmaceutical or highly regulated manufacturing industry.
- Proven experience leading engineering activities and supporting large-scale CAPEX projects from design through commissioning.
- Strong knowledge of GMP requirements and familiarity with engineering and maintenance systems such as COMOS and SAP.
