At the idyllic location Visp, a Chemist / Project Lead – Quality Control (all genders) is sought. This role consists of approximately 50% project management of projects within the Quality Control (QC) Small Molecules and the laboratory management of a chromatography laboratory. In this role, you will not bear any personnel responsibility

• Laboratory management refers to coordination, distribution of tasks and troubleshooting.

Main tasks

• Estimation of expenses for customers in detailed project plans (scheduling, schedule planning, preliminary clarifications, work results, upgrading of documentation and inclusion of quality assurance).
• Coordination of projects and support of the technical implementation of projects during the method transfer and subsequent advice. Reporting on the progress of a project and escalations of matters when required.
• Initiation and completion of necessary process-related change controls, deviations and laboratory tests.
• Responsible for conducting and organizing appropriate training of employees within the QC to ensure cGMP compliance at the operational level. Proactively track development activities within the applicable discipline, along with the exchange of knowledge within the QC organization.
• Create, revise and review cGMP documents (SOPs, quality instructions, protocols, reports) based on the standard format for quality control activities.
• Participation in project-related audits.
• Interface between QC employees and contract laboratories to discuss possible improvement proposals and their implementation together with QC managers.

Requirement profile

• PhD in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Biochemistry, alternatively BSc or MSc with relevant professional experience.
• Advanced scientific expertise in the field of analytical chemistry is a must (expertise with HPLC is a plus).
• Regulatory knowledge (GMP & ISO 9001) is a plus.
• IT knowledge (including QC relevant software such as LIMS, CDS, TrackWise, etc.) is a plus.
• You are a team player, you appreciate and promote a positive team priority. They understand how to communicate in a friendly, determined and professional manner.
• Fluent German and fluent English skills round off their profile.
