- The apprenticeship takes place over 3 years and leads to the Federal Certificate of SWC Capacity.
- Theoretical and practical training:
- The first 3 semesters of your apprenticeship will take place full-time at the Intercantonal Vocational School of Chemistry (EPIC) in Monthey.
- The last 3 semesters will take place in company at CIMO, under the responsibility of a trainer with theoretical courses at the EPIC at one day a week.
- The trade
- After the first 3 semesters at the EPIC where you will have become familiar with the basics of the profession, you will join the Laboratory Service of CIMO.
You will discover a variety of analyses, including physico\-chemical analyses as well as gas and liquid chromatography analyses, carried out mainly on water, soil and air samples. Your days will be rhythmic by preparing samples, conducting analyses and returning results. You will also discover instrumental analytics, used to identify and quantify micropollutants present in the environment.
- To carry out these different missions, you will use state-of-the-art instruments, capable of detecting and analyzing compounds on an infinitely small scale.
