Company and context
- Position The ideal candidate for the position of Coordinator/Coordinator for the Modeller of the Academy of Architecture, with coordinating tasks of the USI-ARC modeling laboratories and the work team, is preferably an architect with a strong technical and organizational attitude, able to activate the realization of models and prototypes for architecture and design in general.
- He has gained many years of experience in physical prototyping and modeling both with traditional/analog tools and with numerical control tools (digital manufacturing).
- Knows the operation of the main tools and machinery for: traditional carpentry, CNC machines, lasercutter, 3D printers, milling machines, cutters and equipment for casting cement/gesso.
- It is able to predict the ordinary and extraordinary maintenance of the equipment of the laboratories, dialogue with suppliers for the necessary specialized interventions and collaborating with the administrative and technical services of the faculty.
- He is interested in periodic updates on safety training at work.
- He is familiar with teaching assistance, and is able to interpret different approaches of representation of architecture, transferring them correctly into physical models and establishing an active dialogue with USI-ARC students in operational choices regarding the possible materials to be used and techniques to be taken randomly, with regard to the sustainability of processes.
- It promotes the training of users of laboratories page 2 / 3 USI-ARC thanks to the coordination between training courses, sustainable operational instructions and regulations.
- It interfaces with strategic operational choices and development of model laboratories and related spaces with the USI-ARC Management. Mansions
- Organize and oversee the different modelling laboratories (management of workstations, cleaning of spaces, disposing, etc.).
- Coordinate the activities of ordinary maintenance for machinery and equipment and oversee interventions on specific plants or machinery (smoke extraction, lasercutter, Zund cutter).
