Main responsibilities

  • The position is embedded within ISEA’s research and development activities and is focused on the design of digital and mixed-signal integrated circuits, with particular emphasis on the development of ASICs and FPGA-based systems. and activities
  • The selected candidate will join research groups focused on the development of High-performance digital systems based on FPGAs and ASIC design, with a particular focus on:
  • Applied research activities in the field of digital electronics, microelectronics, and bioelectronics Modeling of SPAD based sensors
  • Development of one- and two-dimensional SPAD sensors
  • Transfer of research results into teaching activities and contribution to the development of the bachelor’s degree Program in Electronic Engineering, including lecturing activities
  • Scientific dissemination through publications and presentation of results at international conferences. Requirements
  • The ideal candidate will meet the following essential requirements: PhD in microelectronics
  • Proven experience in the design and validation of digital and mixed-signal (analog/digital) ASICs
  • Solid experience with Cadence design tools and EDA tools

  • Proven experience in the design and validation of digital and mixed-signal (analog/digital) ASICs
  • Solid experience with Cadence design tools and EDA tools
  • Excellent proficiency in C/C++ and Python, and familiarity with version control systems (e.g. Git)
  • Excellent command of numerical simulation tools Solid mathematical background
  • Ability to work independently and to manage project deadlines and deliverables
  • Track record of scientific publications or patents in the field of integrated circuit design and in areas related to this position
  • Proven ability to work in interdisciplinary and international teams
  • Initiative, flexibility, and ability to work in multidisciplinary and multicultural environments
  • Excellent interpersonal and collaborative skills

  • The selected candidate will contribute to the design and implementation of SPAD (Single Photon Avalanche Diode) sensors for the development of photon detectors intended for scientific applications.
  • This role involves close collaboration with interdisciplinary teams, including academic researchers, software engineers, and industry partners for the development of innovative devices with applications ranging from materials analysis to the realization of instruments for solar observation.
