• as We are building the handling of motor vehicle damage from scratch: Instead of digitizing existing processes, we are designing a new solution that focuses on AI. This is productive pioneering work – the system should be the future of our claims processing.We are building a new, powerful team, which is part of Claims Analytics within the Competence Center Data & AI of AXA Switzerland. As one of the first data scientists, you are involved in shaping the project right from the start. AXA is not just insurance. Around 600 software and system developers work on the Swiss square and develop the technology of tomorrow in-house. We also collaborate in global teams and networks.We shape and integrate the latest tools, organize hackathons and our agile product teams run self-organized and are self-responsible from A to Z. • You share responsibility for the new Agentic AI system, from problem analysis to modeling to productive operation You choose and implement the right methodological approaches to complex analytical issues along the entire claims process and ensure high-quality outputs
• Analyze existing damage data, access new data sources, identify patterns, train robust models and build scalable AI applications in the cloud (GCP)
• As Lead Data Scientist, you are a sparring partner, initiator and methodical conscience of the team, always with an open ear for ideas and the courage to question assumptions.
• You do not move on familiar paths, but work in the construction of a fundamentally new damage processing with Your skills and talents Data Science: You master the entire path from business problem to productive solution: feature and context engineering, modeling, evaluation, deployment and monitoring. You know which method is the right one and why. Your experience with Agentic AI, Context Engineering or Knowledge Management will make it easier for you to get started with us – we require competence in classic ML.
• Tech Stack: Python and its libraries (e.g. LangChain) are your everyday life. Experience with GCP (especially Vertex AI & Cloud Run), MLOps, CI/CD or container technologies is an advantage.
• Working method: You work proactively, independently and withstand ambiguity. The path is not given to you – you find it by tackling, testing and correcting hypotheses. Mistakes are not a problem as long as you learn from them and adjust the course.
• Data Science Lead: You set the methodical direction, give impulses and make decisions. At the same time, you get involved and leave room for ideas from the team, because you know: Methodological leadership does not mean having all the answers, but to find the best one together. Domain knowledge: Experience in insurance (especially in claims processing) is a plus. If you are outside of the industry, you bring with you the will to delve deep into the processes – because the best solutions arise when the problem is really understood.
