Finance and Controlling Controller Service (100%) The University of Italian Switzerland (USI) is a young and agile reality in continuous development, launched to new challenges in the sign of its three guiding values: quality, openness and responsibility. Active in different areas of study and research, USI offers its students a training as protagonists, engaging and interdisciplinary, and its researchers and collaborators a privileged area of autonomy and freedom of initiative. The Finance and Controlling Service is responsible for USI financial management. It is the central service that manages and updates financial accounting, prepares annual accounting closures according to the legal requirements, supports the management of mandates and projects, it enhances statistics and analytical accounting based on the directives of the Federal Statistical Office and other external bodies. To complete the team of the Finance and Controlling Service the USI opens a position of Controller (100%) Position The ideal candidate for the position of Controller will be in charge of supporting the quarterly and annual accounting closures, identifying any errors or anomalies and curating the predisposition of the detailed documentation required by auditors. If necessary, it will provide technical information to the accounting team on the correct registration of the operations, ensuring compliance with current accounting regulations, internal procedures and the Internal Control System. The role also includes the management of internal and external reporting, the analysis of the scaffolding and support for the preparation of the estimate and forecasting activities. The candidate will eventually be called to cooperate actively in managing internal development projects at the service. Profile, skills and professional experiences Training

• University education in economics or finance or equivalent training
• At least 5 years of experience in a similar position
• Solid accounting skills and excellent knowledge of reporting techniques
• Excellent analytical skills
• Knowledge of at least one other national language as well as Italian (of German preference) and English
• Excellent IT skills (Office package, accounting and financial management IT tools, etc.) page 2 / 3 Personal / transversal skills

• Experience with Swiss GAAP FER
• Knowledge of the Law on public procurement
• Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics Business Central management program
• Experience in “Big 4” or similar contexts
• Experience in the financial management of competitive research
• Knowledge of the specific context of USI Pursuant to Article 10a of the Law on University Schools (LSU), equal to requirements and qualifications and in compliance with institutional objectives, will be given precedence to resident persons eligible to occupy the position. • Entry into service: as soon as possible
• Indefinite contract (after appropriate period of testing)
• Full time (100%)
• Initial contribution: according to CCL and to be agreed according to profile and experience (starting between class 7, min CHF 68’340 / max CHF 95’129 and class 8, min CHF 80’400 / max CHF 111’917)
