As part of the Directorate of Justice and the Interior of the Canton of Zurich, JuWe is responsible for the execution of criminal and measures and the implementation of the various types of detention. For our 1,400 employees from around 40 professions, the successful social reintegration of people who have become criminals and the prevention of relapses are of particular importance.

The probation and enforcement services (BVD) - one of the seven departments of JuWe - are responsible for the execution of imprisonment and judicially ordered measures as well as for probation assistance. They make an important contribution to the prevention of offences and the social integration of people who are in crime. The Department of Imprisonment regulates, coordinates and plans the execution of imprisonment in prisons. Further important decisions are taken on enforcement actions (placement, leave, conditional dismissal, repatriation, etc.).

In addition, applications for the release of imprisonment in the special forms of electronic monitoring and semi-captivity are examined and decided.

Tasks

• You support the case managers in meeting decisions relevant to the execution (e.g. examination of execution openings and conditional dismissals) and write opinions in appeal proceedings - In the 4-eye principle, you ensure the quality and legal conformity of decisions and ensure that decisions are taken in a consistent manner and that they are developed in practice - In the field of short sentences and replacement sentences, you are at the disposal of the department head as legal contact person for legal questions.

You advise the department on legal issues, support complex procedures and recursive procedures and transfer your legal expertise to the further development of the department - you are in contact with internal and external work partners as well as in exchange with social workers, lawyers and experts of forensic psychiatry or psychology - In the absence of the department head, you take over the organizational and professional management of the department in close and coordinated cooperation with the second co-representation.

Requirements

• Degree in law (Lizentiat or Master) with a corresponding professional experience in administration and/or a court. You are interested in forensic questions and in case management and are motivated to train yourself in these interdisciplinary fields of study - you have experience in writing and editing of orders as well as submissions in appeal proceedings and precision in oral and written expression is a matter of course for you.
