University Clinic for Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and Psychotherapy

In Bern and Burgdorf are the ambulatories of the University Hospital for Child and Adolescent Psychiatry (KJP) of the University Psychiatric Center Bern (UPZ). Our interprofessional team is committed to children, young people and their families. As an assistant psychologist, you will have the opportunity to get to know a wide range of psychological and psychosocial problem areas and to further develop your professional skills. In addition to primary psychiatric care, triage and diagnostics, you will gain insights into a wide range of specific treatment options, including crisis intervention, psychological diagnosis, psychotherapy and working with people from different cultural backgrounds. You work closely with specialists from different professional groups and actively contribute your psychological expertise to the treatment. As a university clinic, we combine clinical practice, teaching and research. Clinicians and scientists work closely together to ensure evidence-based and high-quality treatment of our patients. Your tasks

• You work in an interdisciplinary treatment team and actively contribute your psychological expertise to the treatment
• You accompany patients in crisis situations and carry out diagnostic examinations, psychotherapeutic interventions and triages under professional supervision
• You work closely with the different departments of our clinic, especially with special ambulatories and stations
• You will maintain cooperation with external institutions such as KESB, homes, schools and other specialist bodies
• You have the opportunity to participate in our migration consultation session and gain experience working with people from different cultural backgrounds
• You recruit patients for scientific studies and gain insight into clinical-scientific questions
• You take part in internal and external training, such as lectures, conferences, seminars, courses and training, as well as subject-specific supervision

Your profile

• You have a master’s degree in psychology and are in a recognised psychotherapy training
• You bring practical experience in the clinical-psychological field
• Experience in outpatient psychotherapy is beneficial
• You are interested in working with children, adolescents and their families and enjoy a versatile clinical activity
• Evidence-based work is important to you and you are interested in combining clinical activity with scientific questions
• You work independently, responsibly and reflectively and at the same time appreciate the close cooperation in an interdisciplinary team
• You are flexible and open to different clinical tasks and actively contribute to the further development of your professional skills
• You have very good knowledge of German in word and writing
