University Clinic for Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and Psychotherapy

The Universitary Psychiatric Center Bern (UPZ) is expanding its range of treatments at the Bernese Parents-Child Center with a pedagogic-therapeutic support (hometreatment) for children aged 0 to 6 years and their families. The treatment takes place directly in the familiar living environment of the families – where psychological problems show up and changes can be initiated sustainably. Together with the families, we develop individual interventions tailored to their situation, which strengthen their resources and promote the development of children. You work independently and in close cooperation with an interdisciplinary team of experts in pedagogy, psychology and medicine. This intense interdisciplinary collaboration requires flexibility, creativity and team spirit.

Your tasks

• You accompany children and their families in the pedagogical-therapeutic environment, promote their independence and support them in actively shaping their development and therapy process
• You plan and implement individual therapeutic interventions tailored to the life situation of the family
• As a hometreater, you work in a multi-professional team of experts in pedagogy, psychology and medicine.
• Collaboration with parents and custodians you shape in an appreciative and solution-oriented way and actively involve them in the treatment process
• You support families in dealing with challenging everyday situations and strengthen their resources as part of the therapeutic process
• You bring your professional perspective into the diagnostic process and work on a common understanding of the case as well as on the determination of the therapy goals. Together with the treatment team, you are responsible for planning, implementing and documenting the treatment
• With your independent and responsible way of working, you make an important contribution to the quality of treatment and to achieving the clinic’s performance goals.

Your profile

• You have a degree as a qualified nurse HF/FH or as a qualified social pedagogue HF/FH
• You bring practical experience in the outreach work as well as experience in accompanying young children aged 0 to 6 years
• Ideally, you will have experience in child and adolescent psychiatry, multi-family work or further education in systemic family work.
• You know the socio-educational, school and medical care landscape in the Canton of Bern and can safely orient yourself there
• You are empathetic, reflect your actions and find solution-oriented approaches even in challenging situations.
• You work independently, flexibly and responsibly and appreciate the close interdisciplinary cooperation
• You understand how to work constructively, appreciatively and at eye level with parents and guardians
• You can prove a perfect reputation by means of private and special private extract
• You have a driver’s license and, depending on the situation, use public transport or a passenger car for work. You plan your assignments efficiently, economically and environmentally consciously.
• You have very good knowledge of German in words and writing - every other language is a plus
