Main responsibilities

  • include but are not limited to:
  • Support reinsurance underwriters across Europe on all aspects of assessing, rating, and processing new and renewal business.
  • Analyze reinsurance submissions from clients and accurately input relevant data into systems.
  • Calculate and book premiums in underwriting systems, issue policy documentation, and manage processing of endorsements.
  • Support risk evaluation and pricing through data analysis, modeling, and risk rating tools.
  • Assist with maintain and building relationships with clients and brokers, providing exceptional service and ensuring clear communication.
  • Support to monitor market trends and developments to align underwriting strategies with emerging risks and opportunities.

Key requirements

  • Education & Experience:
  • Bachelor's Degree, or equivalent professional qualification.
  • Experience in the European or international reinsurance or insurance industry.
  • Prior experience of 3-4 years in underwriting (preferably insurance or reinsurance) is strongly preferred, though experience in claims or brokerage is also acceptable.
  • Completion of relevant industry certifications (e.g., CPCU, CII, or equivalent) is advantageous. Knowledge, Skills & Competencies:
  • Fluent in English; proficiency in German and/or other European languages is a strong asset.
  • Highly detail-oriented, organized, and capable of managing multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make sound decisions under pressure.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a collaborative and team-oriented mindset.
  • Self-motivated and proactive, with a willingness to take initiative and learn from feedback.
  • Familiarity with reinsurance principles, regulatory environments, and market dynamics in Europe is a strong plus.
  • Comfortable working with technology, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
