With nine forest observatories and five apprentices, the Forstbetrieb Staatswald is the largest forestry employer and teaching company in the canton of St.Gallen. Spread over the Goldach and Oberuzwil sites, the canton’s own forests are managed and a large number of works are carried out for third parties.

What to expect

• Varied activities in the forest throughout the year
• Working in a small team in the wood harvest with chainsaw and special machines
• Consideration of occupational safety and precision at work
• Care of the young forest, forest edges and hedges
• Creation of slopes or creeks
• Maintenance of equipment and tools
