With its six regional competence centres (clusters), the Department of Computer Science Cluster of the Education Department ensures the operation of computer science for all cantonal schools of the secondary level II (vocational and secondary schools). We support schools in the professional implementation of computer science projects and provide tools that ensure the smooth use of computer science resources in teaching and school administration. The Computer Science Cluster I ensures the technical operation of ICT for the vocational and further education centers in Wattwil and Rapperswil as well as the Wattwil Cantonal School.

What to expect

• Ensuring IT operation and IT security
• Client management and software packaging (Intune)
• Support of the virtual server landscape including storage systems
• Support and maintenance of the local environment as well as the Microsoft cloud environment
• Maintenance and further development of the infrastructure services and surrounding systems
• 1st & 2nd level support
• Operation and further development of the monitoring solution
• Support in the area of communication networks (Aruba and Cisco)
• Data backup (Veeam)
• Automation of IT processes
• Creation and follow-up of technical documentation
• Support in technical support tasks (2nd level)
• Implementation of, cooperation in and management of technical projects
• Collaboration in overarching IT teams in the canton of St.Gallen

What distinguishes you

• Training as a computer scientist EFZ, system technician HF/FH or several years of experience in a comparable function
• Well-founded experience in migration projects and technical project management
• Certifications in the Microsoft environment of advantage
• Interest in new technologies and continuous training
• Self-employed, structured and solution-oriented working method
• Pronounced willingness to perform with service and customer orientation
• Well-founded knowledge of German and English in words and writing
• Teamwork as well as pleasant, correct scopes
