Role overview

Mission The Institutional Affairs Unit supports the EPFL Presidency in the national and international positioning of the School, contributing to its development and the promotion of its interests.

Main responsibilities

  • Establish and manage a central institutional contact point within the Institutional Affairs Unit, in close collaboration with the Vice-President for Innovation and Impact and Mediacom.
  • To define and optimize standardized processes to facilitate the access of researchers to support and resources.
  • To maintain a dynamic mapping of the political actors and experts involved in the "public science-policy" initiatives, in order to facilitate interaction and collaboration.
  • To contribute to the EPFL Impact strategy by coordinating and structuring feedback, experience.
  • Strengthening the transfer of knowledge to policies by developing the internal capacities of EPFL
  • Based on a follow-up of federal and cantonal political developments, offer targeted support to the academic community for the valorisation of its research.
  • This includes the provision of contextual information, the preparation of reports in coordination with the relevant actors at EPFL (centres, faculties, vice-presidents).
  • Organize in-house training and workshops in collaboration with Mediacom to develop the capacities of the EPFL community to actively engage in dialogue with political actors.
  • Promote exchanges between EPFL's academic community and political actors by supporting networking
  • Facilitate regular and structured exchanges between academic experts and political decision-makers, including through meetings, seminars, and thematic events.
