The Office for the Environment ensures the protection and sustainable management of natural resources and ensures that the environment of the canton Solothurn remains livable. Within the Department of Coordination, the Department of Computer Science supports the employees of the Office in computer science operations and IT projects. For the coordination department, we are looking for a head of computer science, 80-100%, at the Solothurn location on 01.02.2027 or by agreement.

Your responsibility

• At the interface between the Office of Informatics and our employees, you coordinate IT operations, organize user support and promote digitalization at the Office of the Environment.
• They analyse business processes and identify digital potential and synergies throughout the office.
• For our specialist applications, you record and document requirements, plan life cycles and releases.
• They manage IT projects in cooperation with the specialists, prepare project applications and protection needs analyses and prepare decisions of the management.
• You will be supervised by two employees of the Department of Computer Science.

Your profile

• You have a (specialist) university degree in the field of science with additional training in computer science or a training in computer science with good knowledge of the environment.
• In your professional backpack, you bring good knowledge of data management, business analysis, project and process management as well as requirements engineering.
• Ideally, basic knowledge in Geographic Information Systems will round off your profile.
• You can demonstrate several years of experience in project management and management of IT projects.
• As a team player, you are accustomed to thinking interdisciplinary and networked and to working together with numerous internal and external partners. The processes in a cantonal administration are no stranger to you.
