The Hunting and Fisheries Department of the Office of Forest, Hunting and Fisheries is responsible for the conservation and sustainable use of wild mammals, birds and fish, as well as their natural habitats. We are looking for a co-departmental manager in hunting and fishing at the Solothurn site by immediate agreement or by appointment, 60-70.

Your Responsibility

• The department will guide you in a co-management in professional, personnel, financial and organizational terms.
• You are committed to ensuring that mammals and birds as well as their habitats are protected and that their use is sustained.
• With your employees you are responsible for the enforcement of the hunting laws of the federal and canton.
• For cantonal politics you provide the necessary strategic information and derived measures and concepts.

• They provide the professional representation towards users and protectors as well as communities within the canton and towards the federal government.

Your profile

• You have a degree in wildlife biology or related to species and have several years of experience in a similar occupation, ideally with leadership experience. - Excellent knowledge of the behavior of native mammals and birds and their sustainable use. - You have outstanding communication skills, persuasiveness and assertiveness and are a resilient and consensual personality.

• A high level of willingness to perform and a deeper understanding of political processes round off your profile. - Ideally you have a hunting skills certificate and practical hunting experience.
