Full description
The Office for the Enforcement of Sentences and Measures (AJUV) is responsible for the practical and administrative enforcement of sentences and measures. The Sentences and Measures Enforcement Division plans and shapes resource- and risk-oriented enforcement of sanctions, thereby making a significant contribution to public safety. For the Sentences and Measures Enforcement Division, we are looking for a Case Manager with special duties, Enforcement 1, 80-100%, at the Solothurn location, with immediate effect or by agreement.
Your responsibilities
- As a member of the Enforcement 1 team, you ensure both the enforcement of short (substitute) custodial sentences and case management in cases involving all types of sanctions with a low to medium risk of reoffending (including enforcement planning).
- You calculate and enforce custodial days for all types of sanctions, with a focus on custodial sentences and particularly demanding cases handled by the Enforcement 1 team.
- In this role, you issue decisions that are open to appeal and order alerts and revocations in the Swiss police search system.
- You maintain telephone, written and personal contact with the persons assigned to you, conduct regular enforcement coordination meetings and work interdisciplinarily with other specialist services involved.
- In the absence of the team leader, you act as their deputy, ensure the team's operational management and represent the team leader on the relevant specialist and management committees.
Your profile
- You have a tertiary-level degree in social work, psychology or another humanities discipline and an additional qualification in forensics, or are willing to obtain one.
- In interdisciplinary exchanges with judicial authorities, the police, correctional facilities, experts and probation services, you are just as happy to demonstrate your rhetorical, editorial and administrative skills as you are in direct interaction with convicted persons.
- You apply your reliable, conscientious and efficient working methods particularly when preparing enforcement orders, decisions and court submissions. Between reading court files, enforcement reports and expert opinions, making arrangements by telephone and visiting correctional facilities, an independent working style helps you prioritise flexibly.
- A confident manner and strong social skills distinguish you – both in direct contact with convicted persons and in interdisciplinary collaboration. In addition, your spoken and written German is impeccable; good knowledge of foreign languages such as French and English ideally rounds out your profile.
- You have an unblemished record and demonstrate a willingness to pursue continuous professional development.

What salary does Kanton Solothurn offer for this role?
The original listing does not state a salary. Our estimate for this role and sector in Solothurn is CHF 94'500 - 143'000 gross per year — an estimate, not a figure communicated by Kanton Solothurn. This listing is a part-time position. The contract type shown here comes directly from the employer's original posting; always confirm exact hours, notice period and probation length with Kanton Solothurn during the application process, since these details can vary by role even within the same contract category.
Do I need a cross-border work permit for a role in Solothurn?
EU/EFTA citizens living in an EU/EFTA state can apply for a G permit and can work anywhere in Switzerland: border zones no longer apply to them, and they must return home at least once a week. The Swiss employer files the request with Canton Solothurn's migration office after the contract is signed. Processing times vary by canton, so confirm the specifics with Solothurn's cantonal migration office or with HR during the application.
