During your training as a watchmaker / in EFZ at the Vocational Training Centre Solothurn-Grenchen you will get an insight into the versatile working world of watchmaking. With us at the ZeitZentrum Uhrmacherschule in Grenchen you have from 01.08.2027 the possibility of a varied training for the watchmaker / in EFZ.
Your education
- As a watchmaker you will gain extensive knowledge of mechanical and electronic wristwatches as well as special watches with complications, e.g. chronographs and pendulum clocks.
- Thanks to a thorough manual training and in-depth theoretical knowledge, you will master the repair technique of a variety of brands, models and techniques.
- Various job opportunities arise in specialty shops for watches or at one of the world-famous watch producers.
- Working on the smallest clock particles requires the highest precision. From steel, brass and other materials, watchmakers produce watch parts and the small tools required.
- Watchmakers with a focus on Rhabillage work, for example, in the service department of a watch manufacturer or in a watch shop.

- You bring a flair for technical processes and the world of a mechanical movement fascinates you.

- You can be relied on, you are responsible and working independently gives you pleasure. You have a good comprehension, as well as a strong sense of clean, exact work.
- You attend the 3rd secondary school level E or the progymnasium and show a strong performance in mathematics, physics, nature and technology.
