Canton of Zurich Education Directorate Technical Vocational School Zurich TBZ Head of the Automotive Engineering Department 100% The Automotive Engineering Department of the Technical Vocational School Zurich TBZ is the competence center for the initial and continuing training of the automotive and carrosserie professions.
Around 600 learners are taught in basic education, supplemented by a further education offering with about 40 students in courses for preparation for vocational exams, higher specialist exams and certificate degrees.
At the beginning of the spring semester 2027 or by agreement we are looking for a committed and leading person as departmental director of automotive technology.

- Your tasks Your core tasks include in particular the personnel management, promotion and development of the approximately 40 teachers, the ensuring of a high-quality and reliable school operation, as well as the planning, management and responsibility of financial and human resources.
- You are also responsible for developing educational services and teaching in close cooperation with the target groups of vocational education and training.
- A degree in higher education (FH, ETH or university) in a field of study relevant to automotive technology or a comparable training, is just as much part of your training portfolio as a teaching diploma for vocational schools (EHB, PHZH or equivalent qualification).

- You have several years of teaching and management experience at upper secondary level and ideally bring a wide network in the automotive industry.
- You understand how to lead people, bring different interests together and implement changes in a targeted manner.
- You have either completed a school management training or would be willing to complete it in a timely manner.
- Dedicated leadership skills and a high degree of communication and cooperation skills are also crucial skills that you bring with you.
