- As a Supplier Quality Engineer, you will ensure that all purchased materials and services meet ABB standards by qualifying suppliers, monitoring performance, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to achieve world-class results. The work model for the role is: hybrid
- This role is contributing to the Electrification, Smart Buildings / Supplier Business Excellence & Development in Schaffhausen. You will be mainly accountable for:
- Supplier Qualification & Audits: Qualify and approve new suppliers and conduct regular process, system, and product audits. Quality
- Requirements & FAI: Define and communicate quality requirements and lead First Article Inspections and qualification processes.
- Performance Monitoring & Improvement: Track supplier performance using KPIs (e.g., PPM, OTD) and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Non-Conformance Management: Investigate quality issues, perform root cause analysis, and ensure effective corrective actions (8D/CAPA).
Key requirements

- Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or related field) or equivalent professional experience
- Good knowledge of English and German (spoken and written); additional languages are a plus
- Experience in supplier quality management and supplier audits (ISO 9001, VDA 6.3, IATF 16949 or similar)
- Knowledge of APQP/PPAP and First Article Inspection (FAI)
- Strong problem-solving skills using root cause analysis methods (8D, 5-Why, Ishikawa)
- Understanding of statistical quality methods (SPC, MSA, Gauge R&R)
- Knowledge of technical drawings, GD&T, and material/component specifications
