The Obwalden Cantonal Hospital is an innovative, versatile primary care hospital in central Switzerland with clinics for general, trauma and visceral surgery, orthopedics, internal medicine, ENT, urology, ophthalmology, spinal surgery, gynecology and obstetrics as well as anesthesia.

To strengthen our team, we are looking for a committed and sensitive midwife on November 1st, 2026 or by appointment who will support expectant families with professional expertise, empathy and a high level of cooperation.

• Holistic care and support for women and families during pregnancy and birth
• Promote a safe and self-directed birth experience
• Interdisciplinary collaboration with doctors and nurses at eye level

Your profile

• Completed training as a midwife (HF/FH or equivalent)
• Ideally professional experience
• High social skills, empathy and the ability to remain respectful and calm even in demanding situations
• Reliable and independent way of working as well as a high sense of responsibility
• Willingness to openly address issues, introduce solutions and actively contribute to further development
