Basic builder:in EFZ About the profession As a basic builder: you are used before the actual construction work begins. You ensure that the underground on which the buildings or the traffic routes are later built is sustainable and safe. You solidify the ground by, for example, drilling or ramming piles of concrete or steel into the ground. Very deep excavations you ensure against collapse risk. This is especially important on slopes or close to existing buildings. If a pit reaches into the groundwater, you lower the groundwater level. Activities
- Calibration and erection
- Setting up the construction site. Precisely measure drill holes. Transport and position devices.
- Probing and determining
- Explore ground conditions with small drilling equipment. Drill samples and record results.
- Drilling and driving
- Spraying cement mixture in loose substrate or voids. Drill or ram piles into the ground.
- Securing and anchoring
- Secure deep excavations with special walls. Welding and concrete reinforcement. Securing slopes with rock anchors.
- Lowering and grasping
- Lower groundwater for deep construction sites. Groundwater for drinking water supply.
