Role overview

The HUGs are implementing their new institutional strategy 2026-2030, structured around five strategic axes.

Research and innovation play a central role in stimulating research, innovation and digital transformation.

Within this framework, the flagship accomplishment 3.1 "Translational Research Programme" of axis 3 of the institutional strategy aims to better structure, simplify and connect the entire research and innovation ecosystem in order to accelerate the transfer of scientific discoveries to clinical practice.

  • You identify organizational barriers and propose measures to strengthen research support structures.
  • You promote coordination between the different directorates and entities involved in research, innovation, valorisation, regulatory affairs, partnerships and funding.
  • You are contributing to the establishment of clear and effective governance of the translational research ecosystem. Development of protected time for research
  • You are leading the implementation of an institutional framework allowing equitable access to protected time for research.
  • You are involved in defining the allocation criteria, monitoring mechanisms and associated HR tools to support the development of research activities. Establishment of a Translational Committee
  • You set up a translational committee to evaluate and support projects with high clinical, scientific, translational and commercial potential.
  • You are developing a proactive approach to scouting with laboratories and clinical teams to early detect projects with high clinical potential and commercial impact.
  • Financing, development and technology transfer
  • You help to increase access to competitive financing and resources for project development, are in charge of designing processes and making them intelligible to partners.
  • Development of a collaborative ecosystem and a culture of innovation
