Company description
With more than 13,000 employees representing 160 professions, the University Hospitals in Geneva are a reference institution at the national and international level. To learn more about our institution, take a few minutes to see our 2025 retrospective by clicking here . The Department of Community Medicine and Primary Care (DMCPR) has a societal mission to provide access to quality care for all through community-based medicine, to provide care for light medical and surgical emergencies, to promote prevention among citizens, to bring medical knowledge to judicial investigations and to promote the health of travellers. The Primary Medical Service provides outpatient care for adult patients in primary medical care. This service also provides outpatient emergency medical services to the population. In the context of the HUG's general interest missions, it provides access to the care of people who are disadvantaged by their age, their social, economic, legal status (applicants and asylum-seekers, victims or victims of non-entry into the field, clandestine or clandestine, prisoners or prisoners), or their habits of life
- If necessary, the first resort medical service also ensures the continuity of their care.
Description of post
You assist the medical officer and his/her assistant in the management and administrative organisation of the service, in the clinical, academic and research fields, ensuring the interface between the various professional fields. You organize sessions and symposia using institutional electronic agendas. You prepare, track and archive the records of the various service projects, prepare the minutes and coordinate the follow-up of decisions made. While responding to the various requests, you carry out administrative activities, including scheduling management (HVR), follow-up and subsequent transmission of evaluations as well as staff commitments related to service projects. You ensure the proper management of billings and reimbursements for research and training activities, the transmission of congresses and symposia to the medical profession, or the monitoring of the budget allocated to the service and projects of the head of service. You are pro-active in carrying out the logistical tasks arising from the life of a secretariat, such as ordering, writing letters, requesting commitment, reimbursement or training. Within the team, you develop a close relationship with the employees of the service and ensure continuity in the secretariat during absences. More generally, your sense of service makes you an agile and diplomatic person.
Qualifications
You have an employee's or business employee's CFC and a medical or medical secretary's degree or equivalent. Autonomous, you have a successful experience in a versatile secretariat. You have a perfect command of French in both oral and written terms and a proven writing capacity. Medical terminology is easy to understand. Mastering English level B1 or German is a real asset. At ease in computer science, you justify an ECDL Advanced level for Word or are willing or willing to conduct the training. With or with a good team spirit, you have the ability to work in a shared office with several secretaries. You also have the tools to cope with unforeseen situations and thus manage stress situations proactively. Finally, you have a keen sense of discretion and confidentiality.

Questions about this listing
What salary does HUG offer for this role?
The original listing does not state a salary. Our estimate for this role and sector in Genève is CHF 43'300 - 60'300 gross per year — an estimate, not a figure communicated by HUG. The calculator on this site converts a gross salary into your actual net take-home once cross-border tax and social contributions are applied.
Is this a full-time role, and what type of contract does HUG offer?
This listing is a full-time position. The contract type shown here comes directly from the employer's original posting; always confirm exact hours, notice period and probation length with HUG during the application process, since these details can vary by role even within the same contract category.
Do I need a cross-border work permit for a role in Geneva?
EU/EFTA citizens living in an EU/EFTA state can apply for a G permit and can work anywhere in Switzerland: border zones no longer apply to them, and they must return home at least once a week. The Swiss employer files the request with Canton Geneva's migration office after the contract is signed. Processing times vary by canton, so confirm the specifics with Geneva's cantonal migration office or with HR during the application.
How do I apply for this position at HUG?
