Role overview

Within the clinical pathology department of the HUGs, you will join the team of the Laboratory of Tissue and Cell Pathology and discover the various stages of the management, treatment and analysis of biological samples in histology and cytology.

As part of your internship, you participate, under the supervision of qualified professionals, in the practical and technical activities of the anatomopathology laboratory.

This makes you aware of the organisation of a laboratory, working methods, analytical processes and quality, safety and traceability requirements.

  • You discover the principles and applications of various analytical techniques used in pathology, including immunohistochemistry.
  • You discover the principles of quality control applied at the different stages of the analysis process.
  • You apply the hygiene, safety, quality, confidentiality and environmental protection rules of a medical laboratory.

  • You participate in laboratory meetings and training seminars to better understand the organization of the laboratory, the working processes and the links between the various activities.
  • During this internship, you develop rigorous working methods, your autonomy and your ability to work as a team.
  • You become familiar with the organisation and requirements of a specialised laboratory and learn about the different professions and skills needed to operate it.
  • This experience will allow you to better understand the professional reality of a hospital laboratory and confirm your interest in training in the field of Life Sciences Engineering.
