Role overview

You will be working on development of High Temperature Superconducting (HTS) cables and coils.

You will work on the design, assembly, commissioning and operation of winding and cabling machines used to produce HTS cables with REBCO tapes.

Main responsibilities

  • Your responsibilities
  • Perform quality control (QC) and measurements on REBCO tapes.
  • Participate in the qualification of the mechanical properties of REBCO tapes.
  • Make diagrams, wiring, PLC programming and commissioning of electro-mechanical systems.
  • Support activities related to the integration and use of REBCO tapes in HTS coils and cables.

Key requirements

  • Experience in electrical testing or material testing.
  • Experience in reading and drawing of circuit diagrams.
  • Experience in the cabling and commissioning of electrical cabinets or machines is an advantage.
  • Experience in mechanical assembly is an advantage. Skills

  • Able to work independently and in teams.
  • Reliable and autonomous.
  • Spoken and written English or French, with a commitment to learn the other language. Eligibility criteria:
  • You are a national of a CERN Member or Associate Member State .
