Living memory of Switzerland for all
The Swiss National Library collects Helvetica - texts, images and sounds of Switzerland - and secures the collective memory of Switzerland with its collections. In cooperation with other institutions, it enables wide access to the cultural heritage of the country.
The Swiss Literature Archive (SLA), part of the Swiss National Library within the Federal Office of Culture, collects documents and materials on literature related to Switzerland in the four national languages of German, French, Italian and Romansh with a focus on the 20th century. These are notes and drafts of works, scientific secondary literature, books, digital and analog documents. Today, the SLA comprises 430 estates and archives that can be used for scientific, literary or journalistic work.
The offices of the Federal Department of the Interior (EDI) are systematically committed to good working conditions and the health of their employees and are awarded the label Friendly Work Space.
