What awaits you. The SBB Infrastructure division is responsible for the construction, maintenance and operation of the infrastructure. The “Network Development, Facilities and Technology” sector ensures the strategic management of installations. In this division, the "civil engineering" unit is the competence center responsible for technical management at SBB level in the field of civil engineering for tunnels, bridges, retaining walls, earthworks, noise barriers, drinking water and wastewater installations. We develop techniques, methods and guidelines for new construction, repair and monitoring of engineering structures. What you can make move. - In this role, you assume specialized technical management for retaining works, with an orientation towards geotechnical structures, for construction and maintenance projects of CFF infrastructure. You also provide support to the Tunnel, Geotechnical and Special Works areas. - You check project files, from variant studies to preliminary designs and construction projects, for retaining structures and covered trenches in order to guarantee the correct application of technical prescriptions and qualitative requirements. To do this, you work closely with the implementing project managers and monitoring specialists.

• You provide expert services within the SBB for the evaluation of existing retaining structures and for strategic and operational advice regarding the implementation of construction measures.
• In your role you are responsible for the development of CFF technical guidelines for the design and construction of retaining structures and for conservation, maintenance and upkeep measures. You thus actively participate in extending their useful life and you organize continuing training for SBB internal specialists in this field.
• You manage research projects in terms of innovation and development in the field of geotechnical works and retaining walls as well as their inspection. What you bring.
• A responsible, autonomous and independent approach to your work characterizes you.
• You have experience leading technical teams and communicating appropriately with different stakeholders. You have a large network in the technical field that you are ready to develop both internally and externally.
• You bring several years of practical experience in geotechnical civil engineering.
• You are familiar with the state of the art and technology in the field of geotechnical civil engineering and have specialist knowledge of railway operations as well as regulations.
• You benefit from higher education in the field of civil/geotechnical engineering (HES/university/EPF).
• You have an excellent level in German (level C1) and have good knowledge (level B2) in Italian or French.
