University Clinic for Forensic Psychiatry and Psychotherapy

The University Psychiatric Center Bern is involved in the ambulatory of the University Hospital for Forensic Psychiatry and Psychotherapy for a research-based, effective and socially relevant treatment of people in forensic contexts. The interdisciplinary team combines clinical psychiatry, psychology, law and social sciences to develop new pathways in diagnostics, therapy and relapse prevention. The aim is to promote the mental health, self-responsibility and social reintegration of patients in the long term – and thus make an important contribution to public safety and modern forensic psychiatric care.

Their tasks

• They are responsible for the implementation of psychological-psychotherapeutic individual and group therapies within the framework of judicially and executiveally ordered measures
• You work as a case leading forensic psychologist / forensic psychologist
• They keep the medical history and write regular reports (e.g. to the referral authorities or the court)
• They are responsible for the crisis interventions and for the assessments of the mental state of the patients.
• They work interdisciplinary with the medical service, authorities (probation and enforcement services), courts and other institutions

Your profile

• You have a university degree in clinical psychology and have a completed or advanced psychotherapy education
• You are interested in and open to people in special and not easy life situations
• You will preferably bring forensic-psychological professional experience
• You are interested in forensic psychology and enjoy interdisciplinary collaboration
• They have a high degree of comprehension in dealing with complex issues and are characterized by a pronounced psychological resilience.
• A good team atmosphere is close to your heart
• You have very good knowledge of German, all other language skills are an advantage
