You are part of a data science team in the field of processing collected civil and military communications data. The intelligence gained from this supports the NDB and the MND and thus makes an important contribution to Switzerland’s security policy. As DevOps Engineer III, you are responsible for the design, implementation and operation of a large, distributed data infrastructure.

You can make this contribution

• Modern IaC and GitOps solutions plan, implement and operate as well as take responsibility for the entire deployment cycle

• Design, operate, automate and further develop MLOps environments for the deployment, monitoring and reliable operation of AI and machine learning models throughout their entire lifecycle up to GPGPU hardware

• Manage, maintain and continuously optimize complex Linux system landscapes for the end-to-end operation of an ICT layer for a data platform to ensure stable and performant operation

• Holistic administration of Linux systems, optimize performance and implement system hardening and security configurations

• Operate, develop and optimize monitoring, logging and observability solutions to ensure reliable system operation

• Maintain the physical infrastructure in the data center with server, network and data center components as well as support installations and maintenance work

• Completed training in the IT area HF/FH as well as several years of practice in the engineering and operation of complex IT systems

• In-depth DevOps expertise through several years of experience in the construction, operation and automation of modern Linux infrastructures as well as extensive knowledge in Infrastructure-as-Code, GitOps and associated processes

• Strive for excellence with a high level of learning and openness to holistic, elegant ICT solutions as well as innovative approaches beyond the mainstream such as Dhall, Pull-GitOps and "Dew" and "Fog Computing" paradigms

• Hands-on mentality as well as an independent and team-oriented personality enjoying working across the entire technology stack – from the physical infrastructure in the data center to automated platform and big data environments such as ClickHouse and Kafka

• An impeccable reputation and the ability to integrate into an intelligence environment while acting discreetly at all times are required

• Active knowledge of a second official language and good knowledge of English
