Role overview

  • Fully represent the chief command service army and command operations in absence or in special situations and lead the area of template management personnel, professional and organizational
  • Responsible for commanding the Army’s operations, operations and support services as well as planning, controlling, monitoring and further developing the staff control process through the phases of action planning, situation tracking and action follow-up end-to-end.
  • Coordinate information processing for military decision-making, establish binding guidelines, procedures, templates and products, and ensure leadership and safe use of command and information systems
  • Control operations, ensure data quality and data governance, and coordinate local data stewards, data owners, IT service providers and application managers
  • Implement requirements for data protection and information security
  • Lead complex and interdisciplinary projects on leadership service, staff processes and digitization, represent the interests of command operations in JOPG, committees and expert committees, and train employees in management service procedures, information management and digital working methods
  • Bachelor degree from a technical college or university, preferably in business administration, safety management, business informatics or systems engineering, or an equivalent education with functionally relevant professional experience
  • Several years of management experience, ideally at least three years in the management of a team or organizational unit, as well as at least two years of experience in classical or agile project management
  • Experience in a security-relevant organization is an advantage
  • Designated military background as an officer of the Swiss Army with at least three to five years of experience in military leadership, for example as chief commander, S6, S3 or commander at company level or higher
  • General Staff training required
  • Strong understanding of military leadership and staff processes, strong analytical, conceptual and organizational skills as well as convincing communication, cooperation and leadership skills in complex and dynamic situations
  • High digital affinity and knowledge of military command and information systems, Microsoft M365 and preferably Jira, Confluence, Acta Nova, BPMN and HERMES or IPMA; German C2, French B2, Italian B1 and English B2.
