Put to the Point

The Internal Audit VBS – with a field of activity from defence to civil protection to sport – is the management instrument of the boss VBS. As a member of the corresponding financial team, you can participate, among other things, in the revision of the federal bills of the group Defense and armasuisse, in price audits and in other interesting audit topics of the VBS.

You can make this contribution

• Independent and objective audit and advisory services for the benefit of the head of VBS and members of the department management
• Management and targeted implementation of versatile audits and editing of the corresponding reports in a management-friendly form
• Participation in the revision, in particular, of the Federal Bills of the Defence and Armasuisse Group
• Cooperation in price audits in the context of procurement
• Design of the tests and quality assurance processes so that they can be delivered in accordance with internationally recognised standards
• Provision of specialist information and participation in working groups and committees

This makes them unique.

• degree (HF/FH/Uni/ETH) in business administration or in a similar specialisation; ideally supplemented with the diploma as an auditor or as a Certified Internal Auditor (CIA)
• Several years of private sector auditing experience at an audit firm, internal audit and/or public administration
• Analytical thinking, critical thinking, initiative, understanding of political contexts, assertiveness, high social skills, confidence-building communication
• Good active knowledge of at least one second official language and, if possible, passive knowledge of a third official language. Furthermore, good oral and written knowledge of the English language is required

The General Secretariat of the VBS is the department’s own staff organisation. It supports the head of the department as a member of the Federal Council and in the management of the department. The GS-VBS develops the political strategy and guidelines for the administrative units and supports and controls their implementation. Furthermore, it ensures planning, controlling and coordination at departmental level in the cross-sectional areas of personnel, finance, law and computer science, but also in security policy or in the area and environment.
