Full description
The neonatology of the UKBB with 16 beds, including six respiratory facilities, intermediate care and special care in the rooming-in, is located in the immediate vicinity of the Gebärsaal of the Frauenklinik of the University Hospital Basel. We look after neonates and newborns from the 24th SSW. The care team consists of 60 employees in a total of 40 FTE. The employees of the Lactarium with 4 FTE are part of the neonatology team.

Their tasks
- Promotion and development of care and its quality assurance
- Professional and methodological guidance and coaching of employees in care, advice and education
- Collaboration in interprofessional teams, project groups
- Cooperation in the inter-hospital specialist area of nursing development
- Creating and revising care policies, concepts and leaflets
- Implement and support the care teams in the implementation of the care process
- Organisation of internal training events
- Teamwork in shift operations
- Patient-oriented care, care and promotion of premature or newborns (level 3) in acute to critically unstable health conditions
- Independent execution of complex care interventions in the highly specialized field
- Continuous monitoring of patients and initiation and/or implementation of measures in rapidly changing situations including the application of specialized medical technology
- Advise and guide patients and their families with specific diseases or situations to improve quality of life or recovery process
Your profile
- Completed nursing training for the dipl. Care professional HF/FH
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in nursing sciences
- Completed training NDS intensive care or ÜWP in neonatal intensive care
- Sound clinical, theoretical nursing knowledge and experience in the care of premature and newborn children
- At least 2 years of professional experience
- Motivation and ability to work constructively in a multidisciplinary team
- Self-employed and flexible working methods
- High sense of responsibility and resilience
- Strong professional and social skills
