- Overall responsibility for the strategic, technical, personnel, organizational and financial management of the Cantonal Social Office as well as its future-oriented further development
- Overarching technical management of social assistance, asylum, advancement of alimony and debt collection, assessment centres and other projects
- Ensuring a high level of professional and legal quality
- Strategic reorientation of the asylum area and development of viable solutions for future tasks
- Develop a sustainable vision for social assistance and actively shape the further development process together with communities and other partners.
- Early detection of societal, legal and professional developments as well as initiation and control of reforms, legislative projects and organisational developments
- Advising the director and political authorities on socio-political and enforcement-related issues as well as responsibility for central political affairs
- Maintaining and further developing cooperation with municipalities, the Federation and other partners
- Representation of the canton in intercantonal bodies and conduct of demanding negotiations
- Responsibility for finances, resources, risk and quality management as well as representation of the Cantonal Social Office vis-à-vis authorities, professional organisations, media and the public
Requirements
- University degree in a discipline relevant to the function as well as several years of experience in a demanding management function
- In-depth experience in public administration and a strong understanding of socio-political, legal and social contexts
