Tasks
You like to work with numbers, recognize connections and enjoy preparing data in an understandable way? Do you want to use your work to ensure that capacities and resources in the hospital are used as needed and economically? Then you are exactly right with us. In Integral Capacity Management (IKM) we deal with the planning and control of our ambulatory and stationary capacities. It is important to reconcile the needs of our patients with the available resources and the economic requirements of the hospital. As a data manager, you ensure that we have the necessary data and information at our disposal. You create reports, key figures and evaluations and develop them continuously. In this way, you make developments visible and create a reliable basis for operational and strategic decisions. You work closely with the management of IKM and various departments and support us in continuously developing our capacity planning and management. Your tasks:
- You develop meaningful reports, key figures and forecast models as the basis for operational capacity management and strategic planning
- You analyze the utilization of our outpatient and stationary areas, recognize bottlenecks and unused capacities and derive concrete options for action from them.
- You link performance planning, target bed logic and human resources and thus create the data basis for demand-based and economic capacity planning
- Together with the management IKM, you develop different control scenarios, check their effects using simulations and evaluate the results
- You develop our reporting tools further, link different data sources and automate recurring evaluations and processes
- You prepare complex analyses in a comprehensible way and develop well-founded decision-making principles for operational and strategic issues
- You work closely with different departments and actively contribute your ideas to the further development of our capacity management
Requirements
- You have a completed degree in business informatics, data science, medical informatics, computer science or a comparable data-oriented discipline or are about to graduate.
- You enjoy working with data, recognizing patterns and deriving concrete insights from numbers
- You have very good knowledge of Excel and experience with reporting or business intelligence tools. Knowledge of data modeling, forecasting methods or simulations are advantageous
- You have an analytical, networked way of thinking and are interested in economic connections
- You like to work independently, tackle new questions with curiosity and develop your own solutions
- You can easily explain complex issues and appreciate the exchange with people from different specialist areas
- You are interested in healthcare. Initial knowledge of the Swiss healthcare system is advantageous, but not a requirement

The original listing does not state a salary. Our estimate for this role and sector in Liestal is CHF 99'500 - 169'500 gross per year — an estimate, not a figure communicated by Kantonsspital Baselland (KSBL). Is this a full-time role, and what type of contract does Kantonsspital Baselland (KSBL) offer?

The contract type shown here comes directly from the employer's original posting; always confirm exact hours, notice period and probation length with Kantonsspital Baselland (KSBL) during the application process, since these details can vary by role even within the same contract category.
Do I need a cross-border work permit for a role in Basel?
EU/EFTA citizens living in an EU/EFTA state can apply for a G permit and can work anywhere in Switzerland: border zones no longer apply to them, and they must return home at least once a week. The Swiss employer files the request with Canton Basel's migration office after the contract is signed. Processing times vary by canton, so confirm the specifics with Basel's cantonal migration office or with HR during the application.
