Member of the Management Board AMB | Chief of Staff/Cantonal Management Staff Security Directorate Office for Military and Civil Protection (AMB) Liestal 1 January 2027 or by agreement

Your responsibility

• They carry out the main operations department with the operational management and operational and preparedness planning departments.
• They are responsible for the cantonal precautionary planning and operational doctrine of cantonal population protection and continuously develop it further.
• They are responsible for the missions of the Einsatzverbands Bevölkerungsschutz (EVB). This unites nine cantonal deployments: Care Team, Emergency Hotline, Person Management Team, ABC-Wehr, Öl-Wehr, Rheinrettung, Civil Protection Company, Engineering Team and Helisupport Civil Protection.
• As Chief of Staff of the Cantonal Leadership Staff (KFS) They play a central role in managing major events and emergencies and work closely with partner organisations, municipalities, cantons, the Federation and the army.
• They lead and accompany IT and procurement projects.
• They represent the Office in cantonal, national and trinational specialist and working groups.

Your background

• You have a master’s degree and proven conceptual skills as well as experience in project management, preferably according to HERMES.
• They have a strong understanding of business relationships.
• As an experienced leader, you combine strategic thinking with a high mission orientation.
• They also lead safely under time pressure, make clear decisions and know how to bring together different organizations and specialist areas.
• You have experience in project management, preferably in IT, digitization and procurement projects.
• You are at least an officer at management level 2 of a civil protection partner organisation or an officer of the Swiss Army with proven operational experience.
• We presuppose a high level of resilience and the willingness to work outside regular working hours.

Office for Military and Civil Protection (AMB)

The Office for Military and Civil Protection (AMB) is an operational, training and administrative organisation. The AMB is an office with around 50 employees within the Security Directorate of the Canton of Basel-Landschaft. The AMB is responsible for the missions of the Einsatzverband Bevölkerungsschutz, the training in civil protection as well as for the crew and cadre in civil protection. Administrative activities include, among other things, army tasks on behalf of the Federation or the operation of the Liestal barracks. Furthermore, the AMB prepares operational and precautionary planning as well as logistics and administration services.
