Bachem AG continues to expand and invests in new buildings and production facilities for the production of innovative products. The goal of our vocational training is the sustainable and long-term development of specialist and leadership skills in the company in order to master future growth. Every year we offer an apprenticeship to the logistics specialist, specialization warehouse (a).
The 3-year training in Bachem is based on the model of trial training, in which theory, basic training and practice are taught at three learning locations.
- Most of the teaching is spent in the two main camps for technical and chemical materials. In addition, you visit the areas of tank storage, disposal, delivery and shipping. In order to get to know and understand the whole process of logistics, there are still 3 smaller stages in the areas of planning, purchasing and distribution.
- During one day a week you visit the business school in Liestal. In vocational studies, all theoretical foundations are laid, which are used in the work processes in practice.
- In addition to this practical and theoretical training, the trainees complete the intercompany courses of the SVBL (Swiss Association for Vocational Training in Logistics) and obtain, among other things, the truck driving licence.
Professional description
The warehouse is the control center of our company. Here, logistics experts coordinate all material flows from a wide range of departments in the company. Delivered goods are unloaded, checked and recorded in the system by computer. Logistics operators pick goods based on customer orders and ensure the transport of goods to their destination. Goods are packed professionally, and with the help of modern forklifts and industrial trucks, loaded and secured according to regulations. They carry out the control of the stockpiles and optimally implement the requirements for a smooth flow of goods. Another area of responsibility is the professional disposal of residual materials and waste, in compliance with all environmental and legal regulations.
The logistics team ensures the flow of goods using modern tools. Just as they coordinate the material flows, they are also the contact points for the other departments involved in the goods flows.
